From the trailers Meghna Gulzars directorial Talvar seemed like a boring take on the Arushi Talvar Murder Case. However unlike the trailer the film is a pretty gripping and thrilling take on the unfortunate incident.

The movie starts off pretty slow and seems to be a pretty boring saga. At times it will remind you of Manish Guptas fictional take on the same issue titled Rahasya. At the interval point the film ends up being a pretty average take with some great performances by Irrfan Khan Konkana Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi.

Post the interval the screenplay unfolds like a thunder storm. Be it the way Irrfan Khan concludes the entire case or the sequence where he is kicked out of his duty they are few of the best written sequences of the movie. It is very difficult to not show inclination or taking sides of any of the convicted people. Meghna comes up with a fair take on the entire incident and narrates the story from each and everyones point of view with ease. The songs are incorporated in the screenplay very well and they do take the story forward.
